The Church of St. Augustine Penarth.

A large churchyard on a fine hilltop site overlooking the sea, surrounds the church designed by William Butterfield. The present building was finished in 1866 and is designated a Grade One listed building. The original polychromatic brickwork interior is largely intact, and emulates the character of Keble College Oxford. (Previously, we were heavily involved at Keble with the repairs to the buildings surrounding the Liddon Quad including the Chapel)  The Church exterior survives intact with the exception of the later installation of window guards and extensive harmful cement pointing. The work comprised the following:-  Repairs to internal fabric of the building, where it was necessary to firstly remove salts from the masonry walls prior to re-plastering the damaged areas of lime plaster , the cleaning of the crucifix that is suspended from the chancel arch and finally the water cleaning of the whole interior of the Nave and the Chancel and the cleaning of the dressed stone
